Interior Secretary Ken Salazar will step down from his position in President Obama's Cabinet in March to spend time with his family in Colorado, according to The Denver Post. Salazar's office confirmed to the Post that the former U.S. Senator will announce his resignation Wednesday. Salazar was chosen to serve as interior secretary in 2008. His departure marks the latest in a series of high-profile resignations from the president's Cabinet. Following the departure of Labor Secretary Hilda Solis on Jan. 10, the White House announced that three Cabinet members were staying put: Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Attorney General Eric Holder and Veteran Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki. | |
