Candidates in Massachusetts Senate race make final push Jun 22nd 2013, 21:35 DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Democrat Edward Markey and Republican Gabriel Gomez have busy schedules in the final days of their campaign for the U.S. Senate. Both candidates are trying to rally supporters to get out the vote in Tuesday's special election for the seat formerly held by John Kerry, who left the Senate to become U.S. Secretary of State. Gomez has more than two dozen campaign stops planned over the next three days in what he has dubbed his "people over politics" tour. At a stop in Wakefield on Saturday, he greeted volunteers at a phone bank and joined about two dozen supporters At a barbeque. He said his ground game for Tuesday's election was in "phenomenal shape." Markey had several appearances planned Saturday including a rally with Vice President Joe Biden in Dartmouth. | |
