Virginia's Governor McDonnell repays Williams' loans, apologizes Jul 23rd 2013, 18:06 Gov. Bob McDonnell says he has repaid two loans made to his wife and a business he and his sister own from a major political booster who also has provided his family with thousands of dollars in gifts. In a statement from McDonnell's private legal and communications team, he also issued an extraordinary apology, "for the embarrassment certain members of my family and I brought upon my beloved Virginia and her citizens." McDonnell said the repayments, totaling more than $124,000, to Jonnie Williams include principal and interest and settle both debts in full to the chief executive of trouble nutritional supplements maker Star Scientific.
