Snowden reportedly leaves Moscow airport, enters Russia on refugee status Aug 1st 2013, 12:06 NSA leaker Edward Snowden reportedly has left the Moscow airport and entered Russian territory after receiving refugee status in the country.  His lawyer told The Associated Press on Thursday that Snowden had crossed into Russia. A Russian news agency has reported the same.  The development comes more than a month after Snowden first arrived at the Moscow airport from Hong Kong, and was effectively marooned in the airport's transit zone while he and his supporters tried to sway a country to accept his petition for refugee status.  WikiLeaks, the anti-secrecy group that is supporting Snowden, claimed on its Twitter page that Snowden "has successfully acquired refugee status in Russia."
