Sept. 19, 2012: Republican presidential candidate and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney participates in a Univision "Meet the Candidates" forum with Jorge Ramos and Maria Elena Salinas in Coral Gables, Fla.AP

MIAMI –  Mitt Romney is declaring that his presidential campaign supports "the 100 percent in America." That's in response to criticism sparked by a video in which he says that as a candidate he doesn't worry about the 47 percent of Americans who pay no income taxes.

Romney said during a Miami forum hosted by the Spanish language TV network Univision that his campaign will focus on those voters he thinks he can win over.

Romney backed away from his support earlier in the year for policies that would promote what he called "self-deportation" of illegal immigrants.

He told the Univision audience that illegal immigrants would not be rounded up and deported but that a long-term solution is needed. He didn't offer any details about what that solution might be.
