| State Department: Food aid unlikely if North Korea launches rocket Mar 16th 2012, 16:40 WASHINGTON – The United States says it is "very hard to imagine" it can go ahead with an offer of food aid if North Korea goes ahead with a planned rocket launch. State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland says that a rocket launch would call into question North Korea's good faith and would not create an appropriate environment to move forward with food shipments. North Korea, in a surprise announcement Friday, said it plans to launch a satellite into space on the back of a long-range rocket in April. In late February, North Korea agreed to nuclear concessions and a moratorium on missile tests in return for the food aid. | |
