Probe: Bad judgment in military school Islam class
Jun 20th 2012, 15:25

A Pentagon investigation says poor judgment and poor oversight led to the teaching of anti-Islamic material at a U.S. military school.

The Pentagon says investigators recommended reviewing the actions of two civilian officials at the school see if they should be disciplined. The instructor, an Army officer, was relieved of teaching duties.

Materials in a course at Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia, portrayed the U.S. as at war with Islam. But that's an idea counter to repeated assertions by U.S. officials that enemy is terrorists.

The course was suspended in April.

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, has ordered all service branches to review their training to ensure other courses do not use anti-Islamic material.
